According to him, the main objective of the book is to increase efficiency of junior-level commanding officers both in the routine environment, and on the battlefield. The book comprises extracts from military regulations, major requirements to firing, tactical, combat vehicle-mounted exercises, conducted by sergeants, and a number of other subjects. A separate chapter is devoted to characteristics of combat vehicles and armament, combat and physical training standards, and standard allowances of servicemen.
