Meeting with Putin breakthrough in Russian-Georgian relations - Burdzhanadze

MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Acting Georgian president Nino Burdzhanadze has called her Thursday meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin a breakthrough in Russian-Georgian relations.

"The talk was very open and trusting. In this respect, it can be called a breakthrough because Russian-Georgian relations have always lacked trust," Burdzhanadze told a news conference in Moscow on Thursday.

The meeting addressed issues regarding Abkhazia, South Ossetia and trade and economic relations, Burdzhanadze said.

"We had a very sincere discussion on major issues," she said.

Burdzhanadze expressed satisfaction that the negotiating parties did not avoid discussing difficult issues.
