GROZNY. Dec 26 (Interfax-South) - Two police officers and one serviceman were wounded by a radio-controlled landmine in Grozny's Leninsky district, a source at the district police told Interfax on Friday.
He said the bomb went off 30 meters away from a checkpoint at an intersection when an engineering reconnaissance formation was passing by.
Two police sergeants and a private of Interior Ministry force suffered injuries of varying degrees. They were given medical assistance and are in stable condition.
Interfax was told at the district police that the street where the bomb exploded is one of the busiest in the city and officials from the presidential administration and Chechen government drive along it daily.
