MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax-AVN) - The Perm Strategic Missile Forces Institute has been disbanded, the Forces's press-service told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.
"The Perm Strategic Missile Forces Institute was disbanded on Tuesday. It has been disbanded under the Strategic Missile Forces reduction plan," a press-service official said.
He noted that the Perm Institute trained experts for operating combat railway-based missile systems.
"It has been decided that combat railway-based missiles systems will remain in service with the Strategic Missile Forces until 2006. In this light it has been decided to terminate railway-based missile system experts training as scheduled," the official said.
According to him, cadets of the disbanded institute have been studying in the Rostov-on-Don and the Serpukhov Strategic Missile Forces Institutes since September 1.
"Almost all commissioned officers of the Perm Institute have been provided with living quarters. At the present time the last 27 state housing certificates, earmarked to servicemen of the institute disbanded, are been registered," the official said.
According to him, it only became possible to provide Perm officers with living quarters due to work of their commanders. "More and more living quarters for servicemen have been provided since 2001. For instance, in 2001 the institute received 35 housing certificates, in 2002 - 84, and in 2003 - 122," the official said.
