Russian govt to consider creating national aircraft building company - deputy PM

MOSCOW. Jan 13 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian government plans to study a set of documents dealing with the establishment of a unified national aircraft manufacturing company in the near future, Deputy Prime Minister Boris Alyoshin said on Monday.

The government "is conducting a comprehensive assessment of materials related to establishing a unified aircraft building company," Alyoshin said.

The deputy prime minister said that the feasibility study for the company is "at a high level of abstraction."

"We need to understand the mechanisms for consolidating efforts of the state and business and for creating a favorable environment for investments," he said.

Alyoshin said that government officials are engaged in constant consultations with representatives of the National Reserve Bank, the Irkut, Yakovlev and Kaskol companies.

"Other businesses are showing broad interest as well," the deputy prime minister said, adding that he was referring to Alfa Group and some other companies.
