GROZNY. Jan 15 (Interfax-South) - A rebel has been detained in Grozny while planting a homemade bomb.
Khizir Tovgireyev was arrested while planting a landmine at the corner of Saikhanov and March 8 Streets in the Oktyabrsky district of Grozny, a source in the Grozny police told Interfax on Thursday.
"Tovgireyev said he was fulfilling an order from rebel group leader Turchayev," the source said.
The district prosecutor's office of Grozny has launched an investigation into the case.
The police are checking Tovgireyev's possible involvement in other acts of terrorism and sabotage, the source said.
