OMSK. Jan 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said on Thursday that mobilization exercises are a high priority for the Armed Forces.
"Speaking about mobilization training, one should mention the positive experience of regional mobilization CPXs involving other forces and armed formations, state administration, local government, and other organizations," Ivanov said at a meeting with Siberian governors.
"This approach to joint training allows a model of partial mobilization among several regions in a single strategic area to be made up with preparation of all relevant infrastructure, resources, forces, and government. Without continuous liaison with state administration and other armed authorities our plans will remain mere sheets of paper," he said.
According to the minister, "actual well-trained mobilization resources make a solid basis for better defense capability of the nation" and this indicates how civil society understands and backs the activities of the Defense Ministry, and how its plans fit into the whole pattern of state priorities.
