MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Volunteers amount to over 20 percent of the Chechnya-headquartered 46th Interior Ministry Force Separate Brigade, Interior Ministry Force Chief of Staff Colonel General Nikolai Rogozhkin told Interfax-Military News Agency Thursday.
"The Chechnya-headquartered 46th Interior Ministry Force Separate Brigade has been transferred to volunteer manning since January 1, 2004 within the federal special program. Currently volunteers make over 20 percent of the personnel," he said.
He added that the drafting to the brigade has been speeded up but so far there are no definite terms of completion.
According to the general, volunteers will be drafted first of all from the current conscripted enlisted personnel of the Interior Ministry Force. "Draft requires individual approach, and it is hard to define the terms," Rogozhkin said.
