MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax-AVN) - A large integrated aircraft producer will attract investment into the business, CEO of the Aerokosmicheskoye Oborudovanie Corp. Sergei Bodrunov told Interfax-Military News Agency Thursday.
"The reform in defense industry and aircraft production as part of it is no simple reorganization. It is intended to attract new investment. We have to create a market-oriented, competitive, and investment-attractive holding company. Aerokosmicheskoye Oborudovanie is an element of this future new system," he said.
Aerokosmicheskoye Oborudovanie incorporated five years ago. "Incorporation turned out a good experience. In five years the corporation increased output seven times," the CEO said.
According to Bodrunov, in 2003 the supplies of the corporation were over USD500m. Aerokosmicheskoye Oborudovanie occupies over 60 percent of the aircraft instrumentation market. It is part of the SU-30 Flanker Chinese and Indian contracts, and of the S-300 SAM export agreements.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Boris Alyoshin said previously that the avionics holding company to be created in Russia in 2004 would be based on Aerokosmicheskoye Oborudovanie.
"The creation of the (holding - Interfax-AVN) company has been delayed, a number of rearrangements took place, and recently a new version of the resulting company was approved," Alyoshin said.
