KHANKALA. Jan 16 (Interfax-AVN) - A female liaison of a local rebel gang was detained in the Vedeno district of Chechnya, the Russian Interior Ministry's provisional press center in the North Caucasus said on Friday.
"The criminal police of the Vedeno temporary interior department detained a resident of the Selmentauzen village who was a full-scale member of the rebel underground. She was collecting data on stationing areas, strength, movement routes and armament of federal units and transferring it to a bandit gang led by Dilayev," a press center official told Interfax- Military News Agency.
"Information on the woman's involvement in the bandit underground was obtained through intelligence channels," he said.
According to the official, measures are being taken to detect accomplices of the detainee and to check her possible involvement in the crimes that have been committed in the district.
