IZHEVSK. Jan 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Last year the Izhmash group of enterprises started manufacturing 17 new product lines, including sporting and hunting rifles and other special equipment, as well as increased their output.
"In 2003 Izhmash enterprises started manufacturing 17 new product lines, including the Universal vehicles, ten new sporting and hunting guns and rifles, and a number of other products," the Izhmash press-service told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.
According to the press-service, the innovation products output, demonstrated by Izhmash in 2003, accounted for 35% of the overall output. The company is working on renovating its production facilities. For instance, the Izhevsk-based Armory procured and introduced new types of machine tool stations. It has also introduced the unique technology of manufacturing highly efficient and precise elite firearms barrels.
The press-service says that in 2003 the Izhmash output totaled RUB11.456bn (USD398m). The output increase rate equaled 115% (the 2002 output equaled RUB9.945bn (USD345m). The overall revenue from selling goods, products, and services totaled RUB11.861bn (USD412m). Izhmash enterprises earmarked a total of RUB1,232bn (USD42.8m) to various budgets and other funds. It also paid RUB1.365bn's (USD47.4m) worth of wages, which is 116.7% greater y-o-y 2002. The average monthly pay at Izhmash enterprises increased by 117.6% over a year to equal RUB4,558 (USD158). The production per employee also increased up to RUB391,700 (USD13,605), with the growth rate totaling 111.4%.
The Izhevsk Armory manufactured 84,856 sporting and hunting rifles in 2003.
