MOSCOW. Jan 19 (Interfax-AVN) - All modules on the International Space Station (ISS) are airtight and there is no leakage of the station's atmosphere, deputy flight commander Viktor Blagov told Interfax on Monday, referring to an examination of the ISS performed last weekend.
The Russian and American mission control centers were registering a pressure drop of 1.5-2 millimeters daily in late December 2003. Last week the ISS crew found the cause of the leakage. There was a crack in a viewport ventilation pipe in the American Destiny module. The crew removed the pipe, installed a plug and sealed it. Pressure on board the ISS has been stabilized.
"The atmosphere on the ISS is now stable and there is no cause for concern," Blagov said.
