MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Several large-scale mobilization exercises, involving reservists, will be held in a number of military districts in 2004.
"In compliance with the combat training plan, a number of military districts will conduct several large-scale mobilization exercises, involving reservists, in 2004, and the success of these exercises depends on the readiness of the Army Central Command to organize these exercises," General of the Army Nikolay Kormiltsev, Army Commander-in-Chief and Deputy Defense Minister, told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday before the mobilization exercise in the Army Central Command.
He clarified that the ongoing mobilization exercise would last for four days and involve all general and senior officers of the Army Central Command.
"We have to thoroughly study all documents, pertaining to mobilization, including emergency reservist conscription, as well as participation in disaster-relief operations, and other emergencies," Kormiltsev said.
On the first day of the exercise the participants were addressed by Colonel General Alexander Morozov, Chief of the Army General Staff, Colonel General Vladimir Zaritsky, Commander of the Missile and Artillery Forces, and representatives of a number of Armed Forces directorates and the Army Central Command.
