Russia to export 16 deck aircraft to India before 2008

MOSCOW. Jan 21 (Interfax-AVN) - The MIG aircraft corporation has signed a contract for the supply of 16 MIG-29K Fulcrum deck aircraft to India worth a total of USD700m, MIG's press service reported on Wednesday.

"Twelve combat and four training planes, plus equipment for training pilots and engineers, including land and sea-based interactive training systems, will be exported to India," the report reads.

The supplies are to be completed before 2008, it says.

"There is an option for the supplies of another 30 planes before 2015," the press service reports.

The MIG-29K supply contract is a component of the comprehensive deal for the sale of Russia's Admiral Gorshkov aircraft carrying cruiser to India and installing additional equipment in it.
