Exceptions could be made for ex-security chief - Georgian interior minister

TBILISI. Jan 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Exceptions may be made for former Georgian security minister Igor Georgadze if he gives evidence, Georgian Security Minister Valery Khaburdzania told the press on Wednesday.

Georgadze is wanted by the Georgian Prosecutor General's Office for organizing a terrorist act against then president Eduard Shevardnadze in August 1995.

"I would like to remind him that all former suspects in the case he is wanted for have been released," Khaburdzania said.

Georgadze "should be wise enough to legalize himself," he added.
