Spanish defense minister to visit Russia in late January

MOSCOW. Jan 23 (Interfax-AVN) - Spanish Defense Minister Federico Trillo will arrive in Moscow for an official visit on January 27, a source in the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.

Trillo is expected to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergei Ivanov to address prospects of cooperation within the NATO- Russia Council and bilateral contacts between the defense ministries, the source said. In addition, the parties will exchange opinions on European security and measures against international terrorism.

During the visit that will last until January 30, Trillo will meet with State Duma Defense Committee chairman Viktor Zavarzin and visit the 27th motorized rifle brigade stationed in the south of Moscow.
