KHANKALA. Jan 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Four servicemen were killed and another four were injured when a military convoy hit a landmine in the Sharoi district of Chechnya at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, a source in the headquarters of the Combined Federal Force in the North Caucasus told Interfax-Military News Agency.
A mixed convoy formed by the 291st regiment of the 42nd motorized rifle division and the Interior Ministry was moving down a motorway when it hit a landmine planted on the roadside, the source said. This occurred 4km from the village of Kiri. The blast killed four active duty servicemen, including two Defense Ministry personnel. Another four persons got various injuries. According to the source, an investigation team is working on the scene, and search for the authors of the terrorist attack is underway.
