MOSCOW. Jan 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Chiefs of the aircraft research and production industry have applied to the new State Duma for maximal effort to preserve the industry. The address was sent to the Duma on Wednesday, a competent source in the Duma told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The address reads that urgent legislative and economic measures are needed to sustain the industry and research. Among priorities, according to the address, are export-favorable additions and amendments to the customs and taxation laws, and financial assistance from the state.
Aviation industry, a decisive matter in providing national security and technological independence, as well as a powerful integrating factor, desperately needs modern and competent laws, the address reads.
Aircraft producers' union involves over 80 research institutes and producers/repairers of aircraft and components from 15 Russian regions, as well as banks and insurance companies related to the industry. The union declares readiness to cooperate with European and CIS peers.
