Moscow wants quick clarification of Iraq WMD issue

MOSCOW. Feb 3 (Interfax-AVN) - It is time UN international inspectors close Iraq's WMD dossier and make a final conclusion on whether Iraq has or does not have weapons of mass destruction, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Yury Fedotov said.

"We have an ambiguous situation where the sanctions have been removed from Iraq and the disarmament process has not been completed formally," Fedotov said in an interview with Interfax before meeting with Demetrius Perricos, acting chairman of the UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC), in Moscow on Tuesday.

It is necessary to decide now how UNMOVIC can complete its work in Iraq, Fedotov said.
