Ukrainian Land Forces units start field training at Yavoriv ground

KYIV. Feb 4 (Interfax-AVN) - Units of the Ukrainian Land Forces have started field training and the Yavoriv training ground in the Lviv region, the Defense Ministry's press service said on Wednesday.

"A battalion of the 80th detached airmobile regiment, as well as a mechanized and a tank battalions and an artillery team of the 24th mechanized brigade of the Western operational command are taking field training at the Yavoriv ground," a press service official told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"The units are taking coherence exercises and practicing accomplishment of training and combat missions while driving tanks and IFVs, as well as firing of artillery systems and armament in service with armored vehicles," he said.

Nearly 400 tank shells and 200 artillery shells have been used during the field training, the official noted.

"Units of the 51st and 15th mechanized brigades and the 300th mechanized regiments are about to complete preparations for the field training. They will arrive at the training ground in a few days," he said.

According to the press service, the units operating at the ground total over 1,500 servicemen.
