MOSCOW. Feb 6 (Interfax-AVN) - NATO's new secretary-general Jaap de Hoop Scheffer is likely to visit Russia at the end of March, Deputy Director of NATO's Information Office Michael Hewitt announced on Friday.
He told a conference in Moscow that Scheffer, like his predecessor George Robertson, attaches priority importance to relations with Russia.
Russia and NATO have disagreements over the Alliance's enlargement, he noted. In addition, NATO is insisting that Russia fulfil the commitments it assumed at the Organization for Security and Cooperation Europe's summit in Istanbul under the Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty, Hewitt said.
