YEKATERINBURG. Feb 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 10,000 reservists will take part in a large-scale regional command post exercise (CPX) on the territory of the Siberian military district, chief of the district's press service Colonel Valery Shcheblanin said on Monday.
"During the exercise that will be held on February 10-14 under the supervision of Lieutenant General Vladimir Bakin, first deputy commander and chief-of-staff of the Siberian military district, over 10,000 reservists will be summoned for one to three days to check the notification system and refresh their military skills," Shcheblanin told Interfax-Military News Agency. The CPX will take place in the Altai territory and the internal republic of Altai.
"Various mobilization issues will be settled, a series of missions aimed at increasing troops' combat readiness will be accomplished, and actions of military commissioner's offices, troops, governing bodies and control bodies of various law- enforcement agencies in a special period will be practiced during the exercise," he noted.
The exercise will involve all military commissioner's offices of the Altai territory and republic of Altai, the military units of the district that the offices are manning, military bodies reporting directly to Moscow, and several formations of other ministries and agencies.
During the event, Bakin will hold working meetings with Altai territory administration chief Alexander Surikov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Altai Mikhail Lapshin.
