Russia to conduct strategic missile exercises

MOSCOW. Feb 10 (Interfax-AVN) - Sea- and land-based strategic missiles will be launched during the command post exercise conducted by the Russian Armed Forces, said First Deputy Chief of Staff Colonel General Yuri Baluyevsky.

He told a Tuesday news conference at the Defense Ministry that the exercise will also involve the use of strategic aviation.

No missile launches are planned in the direction of the Atlantic, he said.

The scale of the exercises will be approximately the same as in previous years, he said.
