Land Forces units to participate in strategic command post exercise support

MOSCOW. Feb 11 (Interfax-AVN) - A number of Land Forces units, providing support to the strategic command post exercise (SCPX), will conduct a range of combat training exercises, Army General Nikolay Kormiltsev, Land Forces Commander-in-Chief, told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.

"The main focus will be shifted towards refining their mobility and tactical self-sustaining capability. Certain units will be inspected with regards to their inter-theater airlift capabilities," Kormiltsev said.

"For instance, one of the units will be redeployed to a firing range of the Moscow Military District to carry out a tactical live firing exercise in an unfamiliar terrain and climate," Kormiltsev said.

He also reported that similar tasks would be facing units of the Moscow Military District, the Volga-Urals Military District, and other military districts.

At the present time separate Land Forces units, involved in the SCPX, are refining their combat readiness, Kormiltsev said.
