All Moldovan military to be fingerprinted

CHISINAU. Feb 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Under a new law, the Moldovan military and law enforcers are to be fingerprinted, a competent source in Moldovan security forces told Interfax- Military News Agency Wednesday.

"The police, customs, Anti-Economic Crimes and Corruption Center, Information and Security Services, as well as persons applying for carabiners, will all be fingerprinted by the state under new amends to the law, finally approved by the Moldovan parliament," he said.

In addition, the police, State Security Service, National Army, Emergencies Department, and penitentiary department are also subject to the new law. Then fingerprinting will be compulsory for aircrews, drivers, and citizens going abroad for work.

Both compulsory and volunteer fingerprinting data will be handled by the police, the source added.
