TBILISI. Feb 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgian military experts and members of the Georgian parliamentary defense and security committee are to conduct a joint investigation of violations in the Georgian Defense Ministry.
"In the course of today's meeting with Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee Zakhariya Sherazadashvili we have reached agreement to establish a joint group of military experts and legislators, tasked with investigating violations in the Georgian Defense Ministry," Georgian Defense Minister Lieutenant General David Tevzadze told reporters on Wednesday.
Members of the Defense and Security Committee jointly with law-enforcement agencies have been analyzing the nature and circumstances of violations in the Defense Ministry since 1999. Major attention has been focused on economic breaches, embezzlement, murders, and suicides in the Georgian Armed Forces.
Tevzadze confirmed that there were certain materials, which required tough and quick reaction.
"All officials, proved to be guilty beyond reasonable doubt, will be punished," he emphsized.
