MOSCOW. Feb 12 (Interfax-AVN) - As many as 340 Russian paratroopers, including 50 officers, have been killed since the anti-guerilla operation was launched in Chechnya in August 1999, commander of the Russian Airborne Forces Alexander Kolmakov said at a press conference at Interfax on Thursday.
In addition, 892 paratroopers, including 167 officers, have been wounded. One paratrooper is considered missing, Kolmakov said.
