Missing U.S. journalist found - U.S. embassy

MOSCOW. Feb 12 (Interfax-AVN) - The U.S. journalist who recently went missing in the North Caucasus has been found and is safe, the U.S. Embassy in Russia has told Interfax.

The journalist went missing in the Mozdok district of North Ossetia on Sunday.

The embassy said the journalist's name and the name of the media organization she works for cannot be disclosed under the U.S. law on privacy protection. However, other sources reported earlier that the journalist is Rebecca Santana, who works for the agency Cox Newspapers.

"The embassy has reported to the reporter's family and the Russian authorities who were engaged with the embassy in locating the reporter," the embassy said.
