KHANKALA. Feb 24 (Interfax-AVN) - Law-enforcers seize 10 or more tonnes of oil products daily in the framework of Operation Chechen Oil, the Russian Interior Ministry's interim press center in the North Caucasus reported on Tuesday.
"The personnel of the Interior Ministry's temporary operations force dismantled a mini-refinery for crude oil and two cisterns with a volume of three tonnes each west of the Meskety village in the republic's Nozhai-Yurt district on February 23. They seized 5.8 tonnes of fuel and lubricants. This action was made in the framework of Operation Chechen Oil," the report reads.
Eight illegal oil refineries were dismantled on the eastern outskirts of the Bachi-Yurt village in the Kurchaloi district on Sunday. Law-enforcers seized over 25 tonnes of fuel and lubricants.
Federals destroyed three illegal oil refineries in various areas of Chechnya on February 21. An illegal stub-in was removed from the oil pipeline connecting the Goity, Kort, and Braguny localities. The stub-in located on the outskirts of the Petropavlovskaya village in the Grozny rural district had caused damages totaling RUB144,000 (USD5,050). As much as 16 tonnes of oil products were seized on that day, the press center said.
