Putin favors public control over importation of nuclear wastes

KRASNOYARSK. Feb 27 (Interfax-AVN) - President Vladimir Putin believes problems with nuclear waste and their burial in Russia can be easily avoided.

"If public control is duly organized over the importation of nuclear wastes from the countries to which Russia delivered nuclear materials and over the funds received for processing nuclear wastes, then there will be no problems," he said at a meeting with students of a Krasnoyarsk university on Friday.
