Russian Conventional Weapons Agency's products in great demand abroad

MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Conventional Weapons Agency participated in 43 international exhibitions in 2003, the press service of the agency told Interfax-Military News Agency Wednesday.

"Most exhibits have equal combat efficiency as world peers, and some feature better performance. The agency's products enjoy great demand outside Russia," the press service said.

The press service exemplified by the 100-mm A-190E artillery system, which has fast rate and high precision of fire, is reliable and easy to service, and, in addition, is ready to fire two different types of munitions at a time. It has also a remote control capability and effective tracking systems, the press service emphasized.

Potential customers show great interest in the Khrizantema-S mobile missile system, the Igla-S shoulder-fired SAM, the Konus 9F859 simulator for SAM operators, and optic devices of various purposes.

The press release reads that over 50 percent of Russian military hardware exhibited abroad in 2003 were supplied by the Conventional Weapons Agency. The agency sees this activity as most effective for promotion of Russian industry's achievements across the globe, the press service said.
