Cargo plane crashes at Baku airport (Part 2)

BAKU. March 4 (Interfax-AVN) - A Ukrainian IL-76 Candid cargo plane crashed at the Baku airport Bina around 8:40 a.m. local time on Thursday.

A fire has broken out on the crash site.

The plane was flying from Ankara to Kabul and had had a stopover in Baku to get fuel. After refueling, the plane crashed shortly after takeoff on the territory of the airport, Sabir Ilyasov, a representative of the Azerbaijan Khava Yollary company, told Interfax-Azerbaijan.

"It was a cargo plane. It had a crew of seven people, five of which have died," Ilyasov said.

"We do not know what caused the crash. All the consequences (the fire on the crash site - Interfax) have been eliminated," Ilyasov said.
