NAZRAN. March 5 (Interfax-AVN) - Law-enforcement agencies have killed five guerillas in the course of a special operation in the village of Psedakh in Ingushetia's Malgobek district, a source in the Ingush Interior Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.
"A house in Psedakh was blocked in the course of a special operation. Armed guerillas opened fire on law-enforcement officials and lightly wounded three of them. Response fire resulted in killing five guerillas," the source said.
According to him, four of the guerillas have been identified, all of them being unemployed Chechens. Muslim Janiev, born in 1976, a resident of Chechnya's Nadterechnaya district wanted by the Chechen Interior Ministry for a number of serious offenses, was among the four guerillas.
"Akhmet Kortoev, a local resident, who was in his yard when the operation was conducted, was wounded by a stray bullet," the source said.
According to him, law-enforcement officials confiscated two Kalashnikov assault rifles, four VMG-M hand grenades, eight VOG- 17 grenade launcher rounds, a round for the RPG-7 grenade launcher, and over 500 small arms rounds.
