MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax-AVN) - A decision has been made to appoint Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov as chairman of the Union of Russia and Belarus.
The decision was made in a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarussian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on Thursday, said the Russian presidential press service.
The conversation was on the initiative of the Belarussian president, the press service said.
Putin and Lukashenko also discussed issues relating to the upcoming session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Russia and Belarus.
