CIS officials to discuss air defense in Moscow

MOSCOW. March 12 (Interfax-AVN) - The Air Defense Coordination Committee under the CIS Defense Ministers Council will hold a session in Moscow next week, Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky, chief of the Russian Air Force press service, said on Friday.

"The session will address over 10 issues aimed at improving the state of joint combat duty in the framework of the CIS Unified Air Defense System," Drobyshevsky told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Participants in the session will visit the Granit state- owned enterprise on March 17, where they will meet with representatives of the Russian defense industry and study samples of military-purpose products. A training and methodical session will take place at facilities of the Zhukov Air Defense University and the Defense Ministry's 2nd R&D Institute in Tver on March 18 and 19.

The session will involve representatives of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Turkmenia and Ukraine.
