Up to 1,000 raw recruits with Siberian military district have weight deficit

CHITA. March 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Extra alimentation has been ordered for up to 1,000 young soldiers of the Siberian military district who had weight deficit when they were recruited for active-duty service, the district's press service said on Monday.

"District commander Colonel General Nikolai Makarov has ordered extra alimentation amounting to 50 percent of the regular food ration for all servicemen with weight deficit," a press service official told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Additional alimentation is recommended by the military medical commission and introduced by the unit commander for a period of up to three months. The period may be extended, if necessary, the official said.

"Food for servicemen with weight deficit is cooked in accordance with special rations. They are fed four times a day and provided separate tables in messes," he noted.
