TBILISI. March 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia will remain neutral in Ajaria, Georgian ambassador to Russia Konstantin Kemulariya said in an interview broadcast by Imedi radio in Georgia on Monday.
"The truth about the situation in Ajaria should reach the Russian authorities and public," he said.
"The entire world knows that aggressive separatism is emerging in Ajaria and that openly criminal activities are underway there, such as the distribution of weapons to people and calls for aggression," Kemulariya said.
The ambassador said that he has discussed the Ajarian situation with Russian officials.
"Some Russian bureaucrats have been supporting the leaders of aggressive separatism in Ajaria," he said.
On the other hand, official agencies have declared that Russia will stay neutral in Ajaria. "These statements must be believed," Kemulariya said.
