KYIV. March 15 (Interfax-AVN) - A command post exercise (CPX) named Sea Border 2004 will take place in the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Tuesday to Friday, the Defense Ministry's press service told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"Ukrainian Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff Oleksandr Zatynaiko will supervise the exercise. C2 bodies of the Navy and other arms of service will practice the use of the Navy and its interaction with other military branches and arms of service in actions in maritime areas taking into account present-day challenges," a press service official said.

The CPX will involve Navy and Air Force units, as well as army aviation and airmobile units of the Land Forces. The naval stage of the war games will take place at a training range of the Navy in the Black Sea on Thursday, and the airborne stage at a military airfield in the Crimea on Friday, the official said.

The Navy held the previous CPX, entitled Sea Shield 2002, in March 2002. The war games had a research nature, the official noted.
