Russian Interior Ministry Force mastering new information technologies

MOSCOW. March 18 (Interfax-AVN) - C2 bodies of the Interior Ministry Force are mastering new information technologies, Army General Vyacheslav Tikomirov, commander of the force and deputy interior minister, said on Thursday.

"Main types of troops application and control with the use of new automated systems and telecoms assets were demonstrated at the recent training session of the Interior Ministry Force command," Tikomirov told Interfax-Military News Agency.

According to him, troops control centers have been established and started to function in the Interior Ministry Force command, the headquarters of the Moscow and Northwestern districts of the force, and the detached operations division.

"We have also worked out projects of such a center in the North Caucasus military district and C2 centers at command posts of the Combined Federal Forces in Khankala and the 46th detached special-purpose brigade. Their construction is underway. A mobile command post of the operational and tactical level has been designed. It ensures the work of command and officials at command posts of the Combined Federal Forces," Tikhomirov said.

"In the future, the Interior Ministry Force's information and telecoms system will continue to improve," he stressed.

Tikhomirov also said that the Northwestern and Eastern districts of the forces will be transformed into regional administrations and the other districts into regional commands in order to improve control over the forces.
