Two arms caches exposed in Chechnya

KHANKALA. March 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Law-enforcers have seized a large batch of arms and ammunition in the village of Alleroi in Chechnya's Kurchaloi district, the provisional press center of the Russian Interior Ministry in the North Caucasus said on Friday.

The arms cache was found in a non-residential building in Alleroi, a press center official told Interfax-Military News Agency. It contained six Kalashnikov assault rifles, a large number of cartridges of various caliber, two Motorola radios, 41 electric detonators, a power unit for the Kenwood radio, safety fuses, and special equipment for producing explosive devices. Investigators are looking for owners of the cache.

Meanwhile, the police and Federal Security Service agents found a cache in the Alkhan-Yurt village in the Urus-Martan district. The cache contained a sniper rifle, a portable antitank grenade launcher, an assault rifle, and several hundred cartridges.
