MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Interior Ministry Force will allow its personnel more foreign vacation destinations this year, Commander-in-Chief of the Force Vyacheslav Tikhomirov told Interfax-Military News Agency Tuesday.
"Since last March over 700 servicemen's families went to Egypt, Cyprus, and Turkey under an agreement with a tourist operator. The cost of a journey for the personnel themselves was RUB3,000 to 3,500 (USD105 to 122)," the general said.
"This year the affordable recreation geography will expand into Italy, Spain, France, Finland, the Dominican Republic, and Bali Island (Indonesia - Interfax-AVN)," he went on.
He emphasized that the Interior Ministry Force also has its own recreation facilities, citing three new buildings at the Solnechny sanatorium (another one pending), with special provisions for those who have come after a mission to the North Caucasus.
Tikhomirov also said that the servicemen serving in the North Caucasus received about RUB500,000 (USD17,500) worth of humanitarian aid last year.
