MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax-AVN) - President Vladimir Putin has called on the international community to join efforts in countering international terrorism.
"The recent tragedy in Spain has come as another reminder of the need to consolidate. Only by joining our efforts we will be able to put an end to international terrorism and resolve other international problems," Putin told a Kremlin ceremony after receiving credentials from foreign ambassadors.
The president said that Russia "will continue to play an active role in settling these issues on the basis of international law and under UN auspices."
Russia's international priorities "remain unchanged," Putin said, adding that "Russia will remain a responsible and active participant in global processes. We will continue our honest and open policy toward our neighbors and the global community as a whole."
