Five rebels killed in Ingushetia

NAZRAN. March 29 (Interfax-AVN) - Three rebels were killed in a targeted operation in Nazran, Ingushetia, spokesman for the regional headquarters for the anti-guerilla campaign in the North Caucasus Colonel Ilya Shabalkin told Interfax.

In addition, two unidentified men were shot dead after opening fire on Ingush policemen who wanted to check their passports. The men are currently being identified, Shabalkin said. They had a Makarov pistol and suicide bomber belts made up of one kilogram of plastic explosives and a detonator.
