TASHKENT. March 29 (Interfax-AVN) - A terrorist act was carried out in Tashkent on Monday morning when an explosion occurred near a city market, a source in the Uzbek law enforcement structures told Interfax.
Several people were reportedly injured, the source said. Reports about explosions in other parts of the city have not been confirmed, the source said.
The source said "there have been several attempts to carry out terrorist acts in the republic." "Several people have been detained and they are currently being questioned. It is clearly a well-planned action, someone is behind it," the source said.
Security measures have been increased in Tashkent.
