CHIMKENT. March 29 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - Border guards in Southern Kazakhstan have been alerted following the Monday acts of terrorism in neighboring Uzbekistan.
A source with the border authorities told Interfax- Kazakhstan that "strict checks have been imposed on the border which in actuality means its closure."
The source said that travelers from Uzbekistan are not allowed to enter Kazakhstan without documented reasons, for example, "an official invitation, a business trip, or a return air ticket."
