MOSCOW. March 29 (Interfax-AVN) - Chief of the Federal Industry Agency Boris Alyoshin appreciated of the fact that the Irkut Corporation has made an international IPO.
"This operation is an important indicator and a tool to be included in the national aircraft producer concept," the Industry Agency chief told reporters on Monday.
"Using this tool will bring us closer to the joint national aircraft producer. We are determined to set up one," he said.
He emphasized that other producers would definitely study Irkut's experience.
Alyoshin said that until recently the management system in defense industry had not been adequate to the times we are living in. "Irkut became a pioneer in setting up new relations in defense industry," he said.
Alyoshin said that it was a high priority to get private investors involved in defense industry to find a compromise between the state and private interests.
In response to a question on the development of space programs in this country, he said that this sphere was a top priority, although the Russian Aviation and Space Agency has not entered the Industry Agency. "Anyway, space research will engage state-of-the-art technology," he said.
