Duma to consider "tough statement" on NATO expansion

MOSCOW. March 30 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian State Duma Council is set to discuss a draft statement on NATO enlargement on Wednesday.

It is "a rather tough statement" and it is directly connected to the accession of seven new members to NATO, including the Baltic states, Duma First Deputy Speaker Lyubov Sliska told reporters on Tuesday.

The NATO-Russia Council will meet in Brussels on Friday, Sliska said. "I think our representatives will familiarize members of this council with the Duma statement," she said.
