MOSCOW. March 30 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia believes a new approach must be found for the Kosovo issue, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Yakovenko told a news conference in Moscow on Tuesday.
"We need to find new approaches for resolving this problem, including disarming the extremists," he said.
Russia is very concerned about the situation in Kosovo and intends to raise this issue at the NATO-Russia Council meeting in Brussels on Friday.
Another major issue in Kosovo is the problem of returning refugees, Yakovenko said. This issue will also be addressed in the NATO-Russia Council, he said.
In addition, Moscow will raise the question of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Slovenia signing the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE), Yakovenko said.
