ST.PETERSBURG. March 30 (Interfax-AVN) - Another 283 servicemen have embarked on the conversion training program at the St. Petersburg Additional Professional Training Institute within the framework of the Russian-British conversion training program.
"A total of 171 people will study management at the Applied Economics and Management department, while another 112 people will be assigned to the Information Technologies department," Irina Kozlova, the institute's leading expert, told Interfax- Military News Agency on Tuesday.
The institute has trained over 4,000 people since the Russian-British program came into existence six years ago, Kozlova said.
According to her, in addition to the institute's staff it also hires instructors from St. Petersburg's flagship colleges. "The training program envisions employment of over 220 powerful contemporary PCs, linked to the Internet. All classrooms are equipped with 13 multi-media computers each. The institute also has contemporary licensed software for facilitating training," Kozlova said.
She also noted that students were provided with required living conditions. For instance, residents from other cities, a total of 58 people, live in a comfortable dormitory.
"The job fairs, aimed at finding jobs for future graduates, have turned out to be justified," Kozlova said.
Servicemen undergo an intensive three-month long course (504 academic hours) in 12 subjects.
