Attack on military convoy in Chechnya denied

GROZNY. April 13 (Interfax-AVN) - The Chechen prosecutor's office has denied media reports that several federal servicemen were killed during an attack on an army convoy near the village of Serzhen-Yurt in the republic's Shali district.

"This information does not correspond to reality. There was no attack on or blowing up of a military convoy in the Shali district," Chechnya's deputy prosecutor Alexander Nikitin told Interfax on Tuesday.

Earlier reports suggested that up to six servicemen had been killed as a result of an attack on three Ural trucks near the village of Serzhen-Yurt.
